FlexSea is an innovative, truly home compostable biopolymer material derived from seaweed and other natural sustainably sourced products.
- Raised pre-seed round (£200k) in April 2022, then seed (£3M) in October 2023
- Developed seaweed as a platform for materials in a circular holistic way, with a total of 3 product verticals, exploiting both the polysaccharides and the waste fractions of the algae after their extraction
- Winner of BTV Battle of the Mind competition 2023
- Commercial traction from big firms like P&G, DS Smith, Coveris and Marks&Spencers
With the Futury programme, we met great projects and got to develop our marketing strategy, but the highlight was definitely the media day where we met senior people at P&G who have been very supportive and enriching on many points.
